ALS of Michigan

More commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) is a progressive, neuromuscular disease that is characterized by a degeneration of the motor neurons; the cells in the brain and spinal cord which control muscles. As the motor neurons die, the muscles weaken, affecting the ability to move, speak, swallow and breathe. For the majority of people the mind remains fully aware. As of today, there is no known cause or cure for ALS, although there are many promising research programs.

Saginaw Jr Spirit Hockey

The Saginaw Jr Spirit is a team of traveling hockey players, primarily from the Great Lakes Bay Region, that participates in various leagues and tournaments. They are part of the Greater Saginaw Amateur Hockey Association and are known for their competitive spirit and involvement in events like the Nations Cup.

The offices for the paper are located at 219 East Main Street in downtown Midland; the paper is widely circulated around Midland County. The newspaper also prints the school newspaper for Herbert Henry Dow High School, The Update.

Bullock Creek Little League

Bullock Creek Little League runs on volunteers. Without YOU there would be no baseball and softball for our children. We can use volunteers all of the time, from grounds maintenance on a daily and weekly basis to umpiring and odd jobs around the ballpark. Concessions, umpires, coaches, assistant coaches, board members, and more are needed on a regular basis.
